Basically the video that we had to watch is asking if the ball will go into the basket or not, and what all we need to know in order to figure it out. Based on this picture alone, I don't think the ball will make it into the hoop. The trajectory of the ball, or the downward fall would be the better term, I think, will make it so the ball hits the backboard, but it'll hit and bounce off.
I inserted the image into a graph on Desmos and then made a function that best fit the curve of the ball (which can be seen below).
The function equation that goes with this graph is Y=-.1(X-7.2)^2 +7.8
Looking at the graph above, it's clear that the ball will not go into the basket. It will hit the rim and probably bounce off. There's the possibility that it will hit the rim and fall in the basket anyways, but I would need to know how hard the ball was thrown and how fast it was going when it hit the rim in order to figure out if it would bounce off or fall in.
